And does the car feel the difference when its driven by another person? Perharps it starts mis firing especially if the new driver does so more smoothly.

Jamaa kaoa mke mshamba asiyejua uume wala mapenzi.
Usiku wa ndoa mke akamuuliza mume,“hiki nini?”
Bwana akajibu, “Yaitwa popoo, ninayo mimi tu hapa duniani!” huku jamaa akaongezea.
Siku moja jamaa akasafiri. Kurudi mke akamuuliza “Mbona jirani yetu Noel naye anayo popoo wakati ulisema unayo wewe tu?”
Jamaa akajua Noel kishatembea na mkewe. Kujibaraguza
jamaa akajibu, “Nilikuwa nazo mbili, nikampa Noel moja”.
Mke akahamaki na kusema, “Iweje umpe Noel kubwa, nzuri na tamu ubaki na kipisi tu?
Nenda kachukue hiyo na umpe yako. Kama hutaki nahamia kwake!”.

@pondi...

it is best to lease a car on referral basis only to get past the mchele... option 2 is.. if you work in a company.. look at the newest cars... turns out new cars are parked at the same parking lots with other new cars..

once you indicate that your are capable of filling a tank with fuel, you get a whole roster of possible cars you could drive..

@Callaspade, its from wiper land and also from coast. Its their anti theft/anti hijack/anti borrowing technology. You try to enter the key into the key hole and ...poof!! The car automatically locks you inside... till the owner comes to set you free. Then you really pay.

I also hear the remote technology can also make your key to shrink videadly!!!

As someone mentioned, in most cases you have to drive the borrowed car far from home. Now imagine those fellows who 'ship' a borrowed car to Naivasha and due to their inferior driving skills, they only end up driving the car for five minutes!!! The car might end up wondering "si kama ni hivyo tu tungemalizia kwa jam ya Waiyaki way alafu tuanze kurudi!!!"Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly

And what happens if you get to Naivasha with the borrowed car and get yours being driven there? Probably by the owner of your borrowed car!! LOL. Do you become family friends? Start a car club?
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

I'm told that at the Coast, the owner organizes everything with the car. The car is supposed to tempt you to drive it and if you fall into the trap, it takes you to a predetermined driving track. By "bad luck" the owner of the car gets you red handed, unleashes a couple of threats then finally demands a compensation - a couple of thousands or tens of thousands - "tumalize hii maneno na nipate hela za kufanya sherehe za kitamaduni za kumaliza hii laana.". That time the guy has a full contingent of 'brothers' and 'cousins'!!! Utajipeleka ATM bila kuambiwa na mtu!

You might be out driving somebody's Peugeot 505 (you have to push to get it started). Ukirudi kwa nyumba, you find your compressor which had a full tank is now quarter full.

you can lease a car at a very low cost... just visit the latest clubs in town and look for a car with one of those very big bags called tutalala wapi..those cars are very low maintenance..

Borrow your neighbor's car only if yours is leaking oil and is due for service.
