Anything thats targeted by gangsters has a good resale value.

If you are looking for a vehicle thats wont be a target then the vehicle wont have a good resale value.

'......to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; 3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.' Colossians 2:2-3

i don't see any problem with you reselling the xtrail.these cars are now common and very reliable.avoid the rav4 auto,it's known to develop issues which are expensive to sort,this has been discussed here before, see link

Anyone else 2nd the Xtrail?

The link you gave goes on about people importing xtrails from the UK
We'll i'm currently in the UK (for the next 3 weeks)

Would importing from here be an option? or am i best sticking with Japan?

Nowadays carjackers find it alot easier to steal a car when the owner is inside.

NEWFARER:While you are planning to buy your good ride-XTrail or Rav 4,plus your anti-theft device.Please note that wazuans would like you to keep contributing here and not to be hurt by gangsters when you buy the most expensive SUV with high re-sale value.Maybe,you buy that which gangsters don't want?
As for your other question: yes,Rav 4 maybe more expensive than x-trail.But both are equally reasonable.

@m.r.davies
all rav4 gearboxes are made in japan and are prone to the problem highlighted.the manual option would be a safer bet and even higher resale value locally
