Then @ rights below 100, this will be a true bargain. We need a confirmation though.

I also calculated the rights price at below 100bob considering what they are raising the capital for then they wouldn't dare offer a higher price

Why should they sell at sub 100 when they can easily get a full subscription at 200?

Selling the rights for under 100 will be robbery. Even if it is just for capital, why not take the extra cash and park it in Govt treasuries until you figure a way to use it just like Equity did with the Helios investment when they parked 10B in govt treasuries for a year until they were able to complete the Uganda purchase and expansion into South Sudan

It is to the shareholders because the new shares affect the value of the old shares (dilutive effect) especially to those shareholders who do not take up the rights. For example, if I have 2 shares currently valued at 250/- and then you introduce a new share at 100/-, all the shares will automatically become worth 200/-. Rights issue prices matter otherwise management would always be doing rights issues for even as low as one 1/- to raise capital. Remember that one tenet for them is to maximize value for all shareholders.

ratio is 1:10 not 1:2

Its just touched a historical high at 265.At 270 half of my holdings bought at 200 , will gladly part with.Retain the other half and wait for the rights.

Initial plans were to price the rights issue at Ksh 148/= but with the share on the upward move, its likely to be priced at around ksh 175/=
