I am so pissed... I had my order all set but nada! Well, I had to pay 10.15 (after I read the Press Release) but just got a few... Anyway, now we await the 1H 2010 Results!

I wish the cases against KPRL & KPC get concluded asap. I wanna see those guys collapse/bankrupt & KK takes over the system!

The Saga continues:KPRL denies blocking KK's fuel..KPRL goes on to say KK owes it 600M...apparently KK is the only oil marketer that has refused to pay thus giving them an advantage...story in The Standard...

KK has balls! The rest will jump to KK's side once KK wins [In law it is known as a precedent] & many might even ask for a 'refund' from KPRL since 1999 thus leaving KPRL bankrupt!

I guess that's why KPRL won't relent.. they know if they agree to this, they're done for...

Its Sad that the other oil marketers prefer to watch from the sidelines..

I believe GoK will negotiate a 'private' deal where KK gets some benefits while KPRL gets a higher refining fee...

IMHO, I hope there is no resolution so KPRL goes bankrupt [coz I believe KK will win] & we get rid of the KPRL monopoly...

Oh, and as a KK shareholder... I make out like a bandit!

There seems to be a lot of dirty games in the oil industry.Imanyara is now seeking a statement from the MOE on the new rules allowing importation of 30% of national requirements by NOCK, instead of the existing open tender where the most competitive firm is allowed to import oil on behalf of the other firms.

Damn straight! Shell MD said that NOCK has never been the most competitive so what give them 30% coz it is subsidising NOCK's inefficiency...

I wonder how much more cheaper( or more expensive) refined oil is. I say cheaper, because, from a good refinery, u get over 70%-85% white oil(the good stuff...jet a1, super etc) and then there is the really worthless stuff...tar etc that is known as the black fuel. Our kprl, churns out a 50-50 ratio. Which is jes terrible. On the flip side, refined fuel duties might be a hinderance.

HUGE difference!

1) Refineries are optimised for different Crudes. We import Murban but if we import white oils we can import what we want & need from the CHEAPEST source whether Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Iran, S.Africa, India, etc...
2) KPRL has a lousy distillation ratio for White Oils. So we are paying Kes 6-10 'extra' coz the skimming technology is ancient...
3) Why produce Black Oils when not needed? In winter in Europe, they sell Black Oils cheaper coz they can't use it... We can import from UK/Europe...
4) Uganda plans to refine it's crude in 4-5 years. We can import REFINED products from them including Black Oils.

Bottomline: The Oil Majors wanted out from KPRL for years... Then Essar/Libyans came along coz of the PROTECTED monopoly! If there was no monopoly, they would not have come here!

My worry is that the other day the government, through CCK, was on Safaricom's case. Now they are KK's case via KPRL..............Who is next in the line? This our government never ceases to amaze. Its in times like this when one misses Moi the brari uji baridi.

I do not miss moi coz his administration was inept & corrupt!

At the time Kobil was 100% biwott & there was no leeway for anyone else to complain. Post-2002, biwott saw the writing on the wall. He then 'sold' Kobil to Kenol as well as reducing his shares in KK.

At the end of the day, Biwott stole KK or bought it with stolen money from Kenyans.

I for one would love for KK to go down

I cant believe the hype this stock has...lets wait and see if this "growth stock" will not prove to be a money pit...oil business is too complex.
The utimate goal of investing is to buy low sell high;if we re-write this core equation in psychology terms it becomes buy fear sell greed.

Is there any guarantee that KPRL are also NOT playing to the gallery?
