@KUSAIDIKA...spot on!!! You really hit it this time. I live in Karen and the white chaps here are the most miserable people I ever met. I dare not sit with them for a drink or chat (unless its business). If I wanna have fun I can go hang out with my fellow happy Kenyans in town or wherever. Happiness is truly a difficult concept for the white man to grasp. They even attempt to quantify it and declare we have very little of it. HA!
PS: I do not like to stereotype but I had no option here.

having had personal experience of living and working in the US, europe and kenya, i couldn't agree more. i am really shocked to see that UK is up there! i found the majority of the people there to be just like their weather - cold, miserable and highly unpredictable! and it's almost like they require to take alcohol to 'loosen their tongues' and allow then to interact freely... and the next day when you meet them they just walk right by you...

consider this...most of the people who you are talking about have never left their countries...most British have lived on the Island the whole of their lives and endured the weather. it has become a constant thing. you can't say you are unhappy coz of the weather....Afghans my be happier than kenyans...Kenyans expect too much...serikali this serikali that...always complaining!!! the true mark of a happy person or group of people is that they do not COMPLAIN!!
