There was unnecessary panic especially after half year price drop, i don't think kcb is worth the current price. may be investors are realizing that, personally i have bought heavily between 15 and 18, i believe they will retain ksh 2 full year dividend, either 1 interim and 1 final or 2 final. if they will resume ksh 3 from 2024 or 2025 going forward that will be a very good div yield.
There are only two emotions in the stock market, fear and hope. The problem is, you hope when you should fear and fear when you should hope

Good Q3 results. No interim dividend.

Not yet. It seems one has to give them a nudge. Apparently payments are handled by WTK, not the registrar. Last time, I had to send them an email query.

Quality firms.

I know it may be an unpopular take but ask an investor I am getting disillusioned with most "local" firms on the NSE.

SCBK, WTK, KTC, ABSA, etc pay decent dividends. Some also pay 2x a year which is great for cashflow.

The likes of KCB play with their books. I think it will not pay for FY23.
Equity skipped 2 years of dividends in a row.
DTB skipped a dividend and pays a tiny DPR.
Kenya Re has paid just 10-20c for the past 10 years!

A few KE exceptions are I&M and CARB. I&M has never missed a dividend since listing. I do not recall CARB skipping on dividends in recent memory.

These firms know how to balance shareholders' needs and their growth.

@VVS Don't forget Safcom and NCBA, they do interim and give significant part of EPS.

Saf is not a local firm. Vodafone. They treat shareholders well.

NCBA is one of the better 'local' banks but not as good in "paying" shareholders as much as SCBK or ABSA.

Tough times with higher excise taxes, weak KES/USD, export markets have problems.
