I cannot wait to exit Kenya Re but I am deeply in the red . Maybe a new MD may excite the market

My ASS-UMPTION is that Kenya Re will follow the same guidelines as other "State" firms so the CEO has a max of 2 terms. KenyaRe may not have done very well under him but it has not been looted either when one looks at the cash (Deposits, G-Secs) growth under him. So I say thank you to him. A new (politically aligned) MD may not be the panacea but a strategic investor (eg Swiss Re, General Re, etc) similar to what we saw in Safaricom. BUT this is a Safaricom thread so we can move the general discussion elsewhere. Safaricom, IMHO, benefitted from Vodafone's support both financial, technical and seconded staff eg MJ and BC as well as CFOs and CTOs. Greedy when others are fearful. Relax. Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

If it was another stock with a trailing PE Ratio of 14.5, trailing dividend yield of 5.45%, and non-existent growth in net incomes I would expect it to fall significantly. But I don't know everything.

Watesh is probably right about a dividend cut in the coming years. Debt repayment will take priority.
