Am not so excited abt KCB-R-reason being the expansion stretched their balance sheet. How do they explain 2yrs down the line they are doin anotha rights issue ,thats poor planning coupled with rising costs.what will make them not do another rights issue a few yrs.The anouncement is just mean't to exite the public to buy the rights period!

Inlay mans language he is congratulating @sparly's investment in KCB because the price is very much oversold and a rally is about to ensue.

KCB are advertising the rights on his website. How objective can he be? There are many ways to advertise including talking [positively] about a product or service - the FM stations approach. Sorry, Aly Khan's analysis on KCB is not good enough for me!
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

True...true... I wonder if the ads are paid through Squad Digital or directly... lakini interesting concept either way. @Maich has opened my eyes here.

Good point... heck, excellent point lakini these are 'unaudited' + maybe they finally use an ERP?

BTW, note how KK's CEO said the same thing... that after ERP... info gathering ni chap chap...

KCB shareholders do not have an inkling of what purpose shares have and the history of stocks.. that is the only reason the rights issue was under subscribed..

the first stocks were raised for exploratory voyage ships that used to visit the west indies and India from Britain.. guys would changa for a venture and divide proceeds when the ship came back and sold its product..

the KCB board merely said.. give us some money to rule east Africa... the shareholders said... no, we would rather you keep manga-mangaring around shaking us off of every sent we have in retail services.. and including hawking accounts on the streets...

The bank will return some of that money to the shareholders by paying 60% of its earnings as dividend. Still beats me why they can't pay 10 ct dividend like co-op or safcom and use internal funds for expansion. Maybe maintaining a high share price is one of M.O.O's KPIs, needless to say that it does not tie to shareholder interests.

@sparkly i'm telling you paying 10cts dividend would start a shareholder riot...

And i still believe in companies raising external capital... The shareholders give KCB 12.5billion and they give shareholders 100billion asset growth..
