I am going with option B. I sold my KCB @ 18.65 (less commissions)... I will NOT buy Rights just apply for 'additional' shares if need be...

As for will I exercise my Rights? Depends on 2Q results! And if KCB trades at above 17/-...

@vvs, kudos . . . that nomination as best analyst on wazua last week is well deserved

what nomination are you talking about and who nominated @VVS...LOL...

kidding, it was a thread late last week on best stock analyst . . .

Am going to start tracking wazuans performance on recomendations to see just how much one could gain or lose in a virtual market. I once saw a report card for @qw (i think it was by @youcant)

@the deal, i will need a benchmark for @vvs for coming monday's picks. Simple rules - max 5 counters (i dont want an index), 3-month horizon (no dumping in between). Are you game?

BTW, all wazuans are welcomest to joinest . . .

I generally go for longer term picks coz I am a fundamentalist... Since you are keeping the stats, I am OK with 3 months but my preference is minimum of 6 months (release of either 1H or 2H results)

Being just a toddler in this investing game I am yet to find a suitable style...I have studied the market a great deal and come to an independent conclusion that there is no much upside to the index 700-1200 at most...then a significant 30% dip or more that will wipe that grin outta john come latelys investors faces...in short it will be a decade of a impoverishing sideways grinding trend until all the sins of 2004-2008 speculative mania period are paid for and the market sells at a P/E of 7 or so...well thats what the charts foresee...or maybe I just want to lock in the profits and use them for other endeavors thats why I convince myself so....but any way I am not adding a single cent to the NSE pyramid scheme at these levels...I just need to maintain what I have and build an investment arsenal for future bargains.

statmeister, create a thread for the stats tomorrow, where interested members will post their picks. Give people until the end of the week to make their picks since I believe not everyone logs in daily. Wazua should create a system where people easily enter their choices and the system shows us the returns of people on each market day/week like they did for the referendum on another thread on Wazua. On that report card I did on qw, lets just say things have never been the same between us. Hehe!

The draft rules will be as follows:

1. All participants will start their portfolios with a virtual capital of 10k
2. The scope of this is stocks listed and trading on the NSE
3. An investor can buy into a maximum of 5 counters at the onset.
4. A participant may dump a part or the whole of their counter(s) at any time during the 3 months
5. A participant can only subsequently buy into and out of the original 5 selected counters. No sixth counter may be added at any time
6. There is no requirement to fully invest all liquidity in stocks
7. Transactions will be traded at daily closing prices, and transactions costs are a standard 2.1% at these prices whenever a participant trades
8. Trades will be effected on the day following advice by the participant. Trading will be advised by updating on the thread.
9. Winner gets a cold one from me on the next wazua summit

The date of first buy is 19th July 2010, final valuations done on 19th Oct 2010.

Please give your recomendations

@ statmeister - if i purchase 100 shares of KPLC, that will be over the virtual 10k that we are allowed to start with. Either increase the virtual capital or the 100 shares minimum rule be revised.

100k is better coz stocks I like include Williamson & KPLC... 1oo of either = 20,000 OR can I buy 'odd' lots

Changing to allow both:

a. Cap = 100k
b. Odd lots allowed
