@VVS i think it was a well calculated move by KK to leak their good perfomance coz they knew wat was coming to them...going forward how will this affect KK?
IMHO... KPRL is blowing hot air. I expect KK to sue them for loss of business, etc...

KK has already sued KPRL for 4.9bn... I think KPRL is just trying to get KK to back off...

KK has traded 5.55mn shares leo... and still counting!

The Daily Nation story or KPRL claiming to stop crude processing for KK does not seem to have affected KK's share price...

I am waiting for KK's official response to this...

Actually that story is very positive financially, The effective cost per barrel of processed fuel is $ 2.50 more after KRPL does its processing then importing refined product. In other words KPRL is the equivalent of business nonsense if we ignore the jobs it supposedly creates.

The only tricky bit to navigate is the rules of OTS that require a certain percentage of crude to pass through KPRL however KK can argue termination of contract. What i know is that you cannot keep KK or Shell out of OTS without negatively impacting the downstream market.

@kausha - You are right & many folks don't understand it...

I may be biased but I own KK shares... Great management & future in regional Africa...

Now... what if KK doesn't import crude... they simply get an allocation from another importer e.g. Shell, NOCK... then the KPRL doesn't affect them...

@the deal. U mean u never bought kenolkobil. No wonder u ar even giving the wrong 12 month high. The twelve month high is at 11.00 . And we were set to cross that until this latest row with kprl. But these is a seasonal misunderstanding and will be resolvd.

@The Deal,

Given your reason for buying what is not popular why are you not looking at BOC and Crown Berger?

The arbitration ruling if reported properly is not good for KenolKobil.

Does anyone know but the 'record' of martha koome's rulings when challenged in the Court of Appeal... http://www.businessdaily...1/-/qyax1y/-/index.html

Kes 456mn is not a huge amount for KK so if KK were to deposit that amount into a court's escrow account, can KPRL be compelled to process the crude while the case is pending?

#1 - Appeal of award went in KK's favor considering the initial award.

http://www.kenolkobil.co...e7a22e4f6f41672d22850d6

#2 - KK says judge has not allowed KPRL to stop processing crude for KK.

http://www.kenolkobil.co...c49a162ad98262dc74b0e8f

nation is becoming a rag. What is the point of cosmetic changes without research? Has the Aga Khan left the entire running of the firm to linus & his cohorts?

Poor, if any, research for business stories. Even Business Daily has more sydicated articles from WSJ, Times, etc than real KENYAN or AFRICAN business news!
