All.

Where are we headed as a country if our money is not safe at the bank??

Anyone out there who has been hit by these thieving employees? Would you be willing to tell us your story?

Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) statistics show that about Sh5 million is stolen every day.

In the old days... shoplifters in Uchumi used to be taken out back... and employees used to kick the shyte out of them...

The banks should 'outsource' the recovery of stolen funds to the shareholders... court cases take way too long!

Those figure are inaccurate as most banks dont report most of the inside job theft cases.I have seen people steal from banks and only get fired with no further action taken because such publicity would damage the reputation of the bank.

1] Every village has a mad man ....and a thief! Banks are not an exception.

2] Your deposits are SAFE at the bank. When a bank is robbed, it is not customer's money that is stolen; it is the bank's [read shareholder's] money. The customers will get their deposits paid in full....
....unless the bank collapses under the weight of theft
Nothing is real unless it can be named; nothing has value unless it can be sold; money is worthless unless you spend it.

And have you considered what percentage the 2.4bn is compared to the total customers' deposits in all the banks in Kenya? Drop in the ocean
