KK has been very pro-active coz of the large number of foreign investors who want transparency. Also it seemed that there was a 'leak' thus the official announcement makes the 'leak' official...

@cnn.Ofcourse if Oil prices get controlld it bad for KK. But i think the bill hasnt yet been signed into law so its a breath of fresh air that most probably the pressie will sent it back to parliament to be amended. You want to tell me that if price control bill becomes law it would be as business as usual for your KK holding ??
It seems now investors have even forgotten the price control bill and are just pushing the share price up.lol.The slightest move from parliamnet on this issue will freeze this share, that's for sure.

Too bad they leaked their 1H results....this counter will rally next week....but i suspect foul play...some big fish are trying to excite this counter so that they can exit...their good perfomance is now in the public domain...the impact of releasing their results on 29-07-2010 will be useless...

deal, you may have a point. The management have left nothing to the imagination. By the time the results will have been announced, all investors will have taken their 'positions' on this counter.
Is there likely to be an interim dividend?

LOL... @thedeal... Kwani? In a sense, I applaud KK's 'openess' & I hope they do Quarterly reporting like Total...

Anyway, I am not married to it... My goal is clear & I have my exit point...

H1 hasn't been leaked. Segman said at the AGM that 2010 was going to be a spectacular year.
For those allergic to price controls, Segman when asked about this at the AGM said they welcome it as they make their best profits in controlled markets.
He said as long as price controls are set by independent players(including oil marketers), with no political interference and able to immediately respond to market forces, he can't wait for them.

The problem is the last bit "no political interference"... This is Kenya. It ain't happening...

It remains to be seen whether this court ruling will present another buying opportunity.

1) Is it a valid interpretation? This is Daily Nation

2) If it falls below 10/-, I am back in!!! LOLest!

KK are smart & all this posturing (similar to KPC) can backfire on KPRL...

My gut tells me that GoK made 'promises' to Essar similar to the Telkom case... KK has stuck by the letter & spirit of the Agreement...

Bottomline: KPRL is supposed to provide a certain MINIMUM of 'quality' processing but have flunked... so KK refuses (rightly so) to pay more!

@VVS i think it was a well calculated move by KK to leak their good perfomance coz they knew wat was coming to them...going forward how will this affect KK?
