you are beginning to sound like either a disgruntled former employee, or, more likely, an orange or YU employee. so why don't you guys just counter safcoms offer... how's about 8shs for unlimited internet per day? safcom has sh*gged the opposition with this offer. its as simple as that. so question is, mta do whaaaat??

It works out to 300MB for just 240 shillings per month. Again I ask @qw where is the con in that? I have subscribed successfully and is happily browsing away.

Its just the reality .data bundles are out of fashion. Something silly is that safaricon guyz think that all of us ar teenagers in adolesence and all we do all day is facebook. So they came up with this offer. I think they shld style up or more so grow up....there's tooooooooooooo much to be done on the web.

@qw i'm sure before safcom came up with this offer somebody must have analysed the browsing habits of kenyans and found that on average 10mbs is the maximum one would do when using a PHONE. The offer is meant for mobile phone users @qw, that's where yu was hitting them most.

Synovate’s research aimed to establish Internet usage trends in Kenya. The outcome, the “Digital Drive” report which is probably the first of its kind in Kenya identified the following key trends:

* Kenya now has over 2 million registered users on Facebook.
* Email is being discarded in favour of social networks like Facebook and Twitter by new Internet users in Kenya. One quarter of Kenyans who are online do not have email addresses.
* 79% of Kenya’s Internet users are members of Facebook.
* Daily and weekly internet usage in Kenya have both doubled in the last two years whereas monthly usage grew by over 80% in the same period.
* Kenyan Internet users spend approximately 70 minutes online during each visit. This utilization is comparable to the average amount of time spent on television.

qw, the use of the term 'unlimited internet' is not a con. It is a marketing gimmick. They are everywhere in every industry. Though I hate them, it has come to be accepted as 'normal' by marketers e.g, airlines stating fares, but in reality it is exclusive of tax which you will have to pay, restaurants the same, etc.
But I do feel they should have informed us that the offer was for only 10mb. When I subscribed I browsed and at the end I was shocked to check my credit and found it to be -0.08(by the way, how do you end up with negative credit? It has happened to me severally)
But Safaricom speeds are way faster than its rivals and this offer is a killer blow to them.
GOD BLESS YOUR LIFE

It is a very good offer, if your phone does not have an Opera mini browser just download it and subscribe to the offer. Opera mini compresses data up to to 90% before downloading it so you can imagine how much internet you can access on this offer. And for your information browsing with Opera mini browser on your phone, smart or not, is almost like using a computer. I have been using it for the last 3yrs and have enjoyed it all along.

The offer is workin, but very few people can even finish 2mb usin opera on phone. I use opera on phone n rarely burn 2mb 4 about 3 hrs! This means at the end of da day they are chargin abt 4bob per mb. The only way to use all your data is by downloadin files. Hey anybody kno how to unsubscribe fro this offer?

@hustler. To unsubscribe : *544# then choose 5 .

The problem with safaricom is that it doesnt catter for the others. Theres too much to be done on the web w/ ur mobile otherthan facebookin.

UNMASKED....

@qw has "apparently" been having "difficulty" subscribing to the offer...

Ask him how to unsubscribe? He gives exact details... Yani karibu a quote the exact page of the manual.

If you are limiting your use of opera mini and the bundle to facebooking, whose problem is that? I use it to Wazua..

Man, just advise your bosses at Orange to come up with something better rather than sharing your bile with us.

>> @kenyanhustler, how long have you been subscribed? I ask this because after using 2mb the remaining mbs are not lost they accumulate. e.g. If you have been subscribed for two weeks it amounts to 140mbs minus 2mbs(14) = 112mbs. If you get a modem they are still waiting for you. To check your balance send the word BALANCE to 450. Long stay this offer!!

>> Exactly! and safaricom recognized the need to......catter for the others.......at an affordable rate.

And because your signature reads that you are rich, stick to your laptop and in the meanwhile try YU, they are now charging 10 bob per mb...then tell us how poor they made you.......... adios.
