The government has struck an agreement with KLM to purchase Kenya Airways shares at a premium to prevailing trading price. The government is also at an advanced stage in negotiating with banks on conversion of equity to bonds. Wealth is built through a relatively simple equation Wealth=Income + Investments - Lifestyle

During the AGM today, MJ mentioned that there are ongoing talks of collaboration with other airlines (in Africa? ET maybe?). An announcement with details will come soon, he said. Anyone with details? “The market can remain irrational longer than you can remain solvent.” - John Maynard Keynes

Revenue loss isn’t bottom line loss! Apart from plane maintenance, KQ hasn’t had other BAU massive costs. It’s planes are grounded at home hub so no parking fees, no commercial flights so no fuel costs, halved staff salaries, near-zero HOTAC etc etc Upon consolidation of aviation assets, buyout price shall exceed 2017 restructuring price of KES 8.52.. This is a fact! “It is a complex process and not just nationalisation. It is also a question of how we deal with minority shareholders. All these still remain to be finalised,” Mr Joseph said. KQLC conversion price of equity to bond cannot also be at a throwaway, neither can KLM. GoK cannot buyout lower than going price.
