An important statistic we need to consider is how many medical professionals we have at the front line and their rate of death and decommissioning.

We may need to know under what circumstances exactly they lose their lives, and how we can mitigate for this grave risk. Spain seems to have 14% of its dead from front line medics...

We also need to protect our doctors and nurses.

It appears that doctors and nurses have little protection even in terms of basics like masks and gloves.

[quote]“When we already knew that the virus was circulating in hospitals, we were still being told that the usage of protective gear should be limited to specific circumstances,” said Juanjo Menéndez, the communications director of SATSE Madrid, a nurses’ union. “It’s the kind of basic error that a student learns to avoid in the first year of medical school.”/quote]

This may be a trend... But let's dig.

Germany has recorded less than 500 deaths out of over 60,000 cases. They must be doing something right.

[quote]More infections among medical staff are still likely, he added, because of fatigue and a lack of protective gear./quote]

Another reason I have noted of significance is that Covid can manifest with symptoms not listed as yet, like gastrointestinal problems.

We should say all symptoms are first Covid, or Covid and another disease.

We can do something about fatigue: Let's support the doctors and govt by taking drastic and preemptive action. If we can cut the rate of transmission, we save a doctor's life. We save many more patients who are likely to be left unattended.

The govt has shown goodwill by supporting us. Let the citizen do something in return. We don't have to be told by MOH what to do. Initiative is seized not granted.

We also need to think hard about supplies, equipment and ways of/for improvisation. I have designed some treatments based on building up patient immunity, but there are no trials, though the methods are scalable. And we may get equipment and and non front line personnel easily.

We have a strategic context, we have a will and a way out. We can visualize the battlefield, we have plenty of intel coming in. It's a tough war, but I am reasonably optimistic.

Germany has:

1. Money
2. Equipment and supplies
3. Highly trained professionals
4. A conducive work culture and ethic
5. A fairly robust health care system

These are factors that appear to be determinants of low mortality rate. Though it is said that the population infected the most are also not the most vulnerable (35-59)...

Early testing which is key in beginning treatment and isolation. Plus the testing companies are based there, Siemens and Draeger are German companies so they have the capacity advantage.

Covid-19 is lethal due to non biological factors. It is lethal due to negligence on the part of most governments. Pandemics/epidemics are foreseeable security and health challenges, and lack of equipment or professionals need not to be the main contributor of fatalities.

The US, then, should hang their heads in shame: a supposed super power with all the tools at its disposal but can't coordinate an adequate response to the pandemic unlike Germany and others.

"They" have never forgotten who was responsible for the holocaust and 911 memorials will be built. The one certainty repercussions will happen watching media outlets such as fox news tells you whats coming once they conquer the virus.

But how the do that against the chinise is another thread altogether

China is somehow responsible for the escalation of this situation for hiding very iportant information on the seriousness of this virus. Look at it thisway.. when you suspect you have this virus you are moraly supposed to self isolate. The same as any nation. China was the first nation to notice the grave characteristics of this virus and instead of warning other nations and self isolate itself by locking its borders air sea and land. They went ahead and tried to cover things. Now they are boasting of how they have defeated the virus and are now almost closing their borders for "fear" of this virus 're entering their teritory.
Deep down in the hearts of this western nations now view China as a pariah state.
This might be the beginning of the end of the mighty China.

Iran’s president, Hassan Rouhani, said on Sunday that the “new way of life” in Iran was likely to be prolonged, as the country’s death toll rose to 2,640 and its number of officially confirmed cases to 38,309. “We must prepare to live with this virus until a treatment or vaccine is discovered,” he said.

US in many areas is much 3rd world. Their healthcare system is shambolic and expensive. They wasted trillion dollars on wars instead. Post pandemic US will become socialist and inward looking.

Anyone have access to documentation of Kagwe's assertion that we have enough capacity in health care workers, 1,000 icu beds and orders of 250 ventilators?

Until I see such, I call bullshit on that PR stunt he is pulling. He has simply moved from listing new infections and scolding us to hoodwinking us....nkt!!

Plus 8. Soon we'll have more than 100 esp when mass testing begins.

The government doesn't know who has the capacity to mass produce masks gowns etc, if you do you have been asked to self identify

I don't think China was honest about this disease and they massively under-reported numbers.
