@Murchr my fear is that we don't go the US way. Those people have become so political they don't seem to realize that they will be the hardest hit country in the whole world.

What we need Mutahi Kagwe to do is take a plane to South Korea, Singapore and Nigeria. If he can't then go camp at their embassies. Then remind the Chinese that we didn't chase their aeroplane as Alai wanted us to do.

These countries have gone the route of testing everyone including the pet mouse their homes. The scientific way without the racist methods of shutting down borders. You test as many people as you can, inform those that have it to isolate themselves, then have the gov't take care of the very sick.

That method has worked. Actually the statistics are day and night. Those that use scientific methods to contain this thing are coming to a plateau. Those on the other hand spending the whole day politicking are dying and numbers rising daily.

We need the gov't to quickly fund testing for as many Kenyans as possible. f*** the BBI, fake stadiums and even paying suppliers. and even that big five. Pay for testing kits. Borrow from the damn Chinese if you have to.

That's the only thing I have seen working worldwide.

Hii ingine of politicking and blaming sijui who is killing those Americans daily. Lord have mercy if that crazy president already has it. Today he blamed Obama.

Let's get tested as soon as is practically possible. Siasa baadaye.

He should just let the health experts run the show.

But a country that is still plagued by cholera...we have a long way to go

I like Tycho love studying history.

This dummy has gone from 10 days saying that America shall destroy Coronavirus, to now as we speak declaring a state of emergency. With a few caveats. One he shakes the hands of everyone on TV, then declares that people don't have to be tested, to now running a public spectacle of introducing private companies that have no concern for public health other than profits.

I believe Mutahi Kagwe is better than that. In fact I believe that Ruto will do a better job. Even Sonko. This conman will kill America. Shauri yao.

Let's deal with Kenya.

Someone in the Kenyan gov't decided not to listen to mbroggers and instead work with the Chinese gov't. On this one, we shall owe our children to their experience and their attitude. Even the Italians have accepted they shall learn from the Chinese.

Our country is not a dead dodo.

We need to make the right decisions. Right now. And for me it's simple. We have great doctors and yes, cholera is bad but somehow we control it.

Look at what Nigeria did. 1 case and that was it. I believe that can be done.

And to be honest, Mutahi Kagwe to me, is up to the job. After all, the matapaka brought you internet.

But Corona is here to shift the balance of power, one way or the other. Either it shall decimate a large chunk of humans. Or it shall open the world to the real conmen worldwide. But at the very least, you just don't go around shaking hands with people you don't know. Na hiyo pia ni maendeleo.

I wish the whole wazua family the best going forward. Let's help where we can and pull together where we can.

Because unlike doomsayers or overly superstitious people, I have no doubt, that this thing shall change how we behave for generations to come.

God Bless everyone.

Leave hand sanitizers to the midro crass. Google natural sanitizers, you have them in your home. One of which is simple Viceroy.

As much as containment is important its out there now its just a matter of time before ilipuke unaona venye europe na USA zimegongwa.

GAVA should now focus on mitigation are there enough hospital beds out there when the mass outbreak happens an institution with boarding facilities in every county should be set side as a holding centre to ease the pressure on hospitals.Who are the most vulnerable and where are they.

The thing with this coronavirus as we have seen on this thread haichagui ni breaking news tu tutaona like we have seen with the UK minister ,coach wa arsenal...

Its summer time in Australia and the heat is not stopping it.

Being that it's novel - from animal to human, scientists are still studying it and they are using China South Korea and Singapore as success stories. If it has been spreading, we might go through the phases that US, UK and Italy are going through now.

Hope that there's no community spread taking place

Forget sanitizers & viceroy. Soap is the solution!

Wash your hands!
Quote:
Soapy water is totally different. Soap contains fat-like substances known as amphiphiles, some of which are structurally very similar to the lipids in the virus membrane. The soap molecules “compete” with the lipids in the virus membrane. This is more or less how soap also removes normal dirt from the skin.

The soap not only loosens the “glue” between the virus and the skin but also the Velcro-like interactions that hold the proteins, lipids and RNA in the virus together.

Coronavirus hits ill and disabled people hardest, so why is society writing us off? | Frances Ryan
Alcohol-based products, which pretty much includes all “disinfectant” products, contain a high-percentage alcohol solution (typically 60-80% ethanol) and kill viruses in a similar fashion. But soap is better because you only need a fairly small amount of soapy water, which, with rubbing, covers your entire hand easily. Whereas you need to literally soak the virus in ethanol for a brief moment, and wipes or rubbing a gel on the hands does not guarantee that you soak every corner of the skin on your hands effectively enough.

So, soap is the best, but do please use alcohol-based sanitiser when soap is not handy or practical.

From what i've been told trying to suppress a virus of this nature is a futile exercise. Once containment failed then the next logical step is to let it burn through the population. The only thing you do is to mitigate. China once it releases its pop. from lock-down the virus will explode once again.

There is more bad news coming in the months ahead. Get comfortable with hearing 1000 deaths per day. You are adults deal with it.

Trump's Europe travel ban is expanded to the United Kingdom and Ireland. He's also declared a national emergency.

France is shutting down all restaurants, cafes, cinemas and retail shops that are not essential.

Jeso Britain is hoping 60% of its population gets infected ndio they develop herd immunity

Millions of Britons will need to contract coronavirus in order to control the impact of the disease which is likely to return "year on year", the government's chief scientific adviser has told Sky News.

Now what is the population of britain vis-a-vis the mortality rate of the virus

unfortunately the speed at which the virus is spreading won't allow for the orderly transition Britain is hoping for.

China is basking in glory now having contained the virus but the second wave will be deadly. They have to prevent back flow infection from other countries and have to deal with year to year breakouts. Plus prolonged lock-downs will crash their economy.

It's a delicate balancing act, one wrong thing and you tip over the economy. An economic crash will be kill more people than the virus. On the other hand you crash your healthcare systems.

A lockdown is not sustainable, and we all need to be infected, or vaccinated. So why don't we gamify this thing.

Develop a realtime surveillance of the most vulnerable population segment and offer support. For example, we can support a heart condition through a corvid infection.

The rest of us minus the children, wear a mask, wash hands, practice maximum caution instead of self isolation - I doubt if this is possible for most households - and wait to pass the initiation into the twenty first century.

The game could be about getting infected after the longest wait and infecting the least people while sick. Prize?
