@ProverB why laugh when you should be buying this distressed share! Bet against the market now and in One year you will be laughing all the way to the Bank ... Literary.

@sparkly... assuming we all have investment strategies... eg, low pe, growing eps..minimum ROE of 15% over several periods...etc.. define one that makes cfc a buy. please not banking on hopes that "one day it will do well".

ok.
On that note... i'm glad i stayed out. apart from Mukiha's approach..only hopes seem to justify buying..unfortunately that cannot be quantified into real cash.[/quote]

I like these archivessmile smile

Today is one month latter CFC has gained from 43 to 59.50( 38.7%) in the past 1 month

@Mukiha - I have you to thank! I saw how bullish you were on this stock, did my homework and jumped in at 49/=. I am loving the ride. Indeed, twende, twende, zunguka...

@the deal - By November it will be 100/=!!! you need to be a bit more hardened. If the fundamentals are right, don't alight too soon. Stop working for your broker. When you talk about 17%, it's actually 13%. The broker chews 4% (buying & selling) at 0% risk and you chew 13% at 100% risk - does that sound equitable to you?
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

Stay strong my brother! This share is not trading at fair price yet!! When it gets there, then you can re-evaluate your position if need be.

@mukiha i think i deserve the title "mukiha's sidekick" on this one smile . Got in at 44 and added more at 40 when it fell to that level. I Plan to alight at 85 or when they announce de-merger date, whichever comes earlier.
Life is short. Live passionately.

@the deal - LOL. On the brighter side, you have already REALIZED your gains - and 60% in two months is no joke. On the other side, my gain remains paper gain - anything can happen! Raila can say "NO", Kalonzo says "May be" and Kibaki says "Kubaff. Mavi ya kuku. Katiba ni bureee, bure kabisa!" and the price moves to 30/= before I can say wtf. Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly

this stock looks like a favourite with investors now. The price may very well go all the way to 100. Look at barclays and DTK too. They are all in the green. Financial stocks are still flying high it seems. One would say they are only going back to their fair value though.
