I concur. The narrative that cheap imports from China has killed EA Cables is a joke only reserved for the so called wazua elders who sit in air-conditioned offices in Nairobi and not for watu ya mashinani like some of us. In the past 8 years that Jubilee govt. has been in power they have overhauled transmission lines from wooden poles to concrete poles and from naked transmitter copper cables to aluminum and in some areas insulated cables. I for instance has witnessed with my own naked eyes over 200 kilometers of transmission line overhaul and all cable was supplied by EACables. I know this because Kenya power left behind those wooden things that transmission cable is rolled on and the wooden things are all labelled EA cables. The wazees have been rigging/cooking the books to hide massive sales they have been making with lastmile and transmission upgrade.

The casino is rigged(pun not intended).

But when it comes to construction(Civicon), the wazees have failed head-first. Civicon has failed to deliver even an inch of tarmack in Eldoret, Makueni and other areas where it won contracts for annuity road project. They even had problems delivering EABL factory in Kisumu.

We read in the newspapers last week that orpower22 is dead on arrival...Civicon is a deadbeat....run for your wife.

Weren't we both burned in ARM?
Anyway, I wish you the best. Let's catch up in Dec 2022 to review 2 years of performance of EAC/TCL.

Chisas
The circular put out by EACables mgt sounded like deja vu. Just the kind of song I've heard before from ARMCement.

EAC/TCL did lose its favored son status after Kibz left. That said, most legit manufacturers have suffered under #TanoTena

Even BAT has seen local sales volume drop for a product that is largely inelastic.
EABL has also had a rough time.

Other non-sin manufacturers have been hit even harder.

Ecobank Kenya appointed Kereto Marina on Jan 31 as receiver over specific assets of plant and machinery.

Receiver to deal with matters to do with specific assets backing debentures issued on Dec 2011, July 2013 and March 2015 -- Bloomberg

EAC
Then TCL may not be far behind given EAC is one of its largest assets/holdings.
Cables is still trading.
