People I see you missing out on this great opportunity by you over emphasing on the perceived risks. The risks you are talking about will affect the entire NSE. Keep your eyes open and especially when KCB releases their half year results

Pkoli, I also feel people are being overly pessimistic on the risk that the referendum poses

The Deal,
KCB got punished by shareholders when it announced massive rights issue. Speculation was that it was going to issue over 1b more shares.The price drop is not supported by any fundamentals. Even factoring in the dilution it trading at a pe far below its peers. I meant it will go up after August when the rights will have been taken up and the fund managers start to mop them up.Come september, u will not find this share below 20. Looks every one is waiting for it at 17 bob. I am taking a gabmle by buying the rights at 1 bob, bringing everything to 18.05 bob a share.

Guys ...what fundamentals have changed in KCB as a business that warrant such reduced speculated price...another person say that it will sell for 12 bob...!!!others 10 bob... The highest price we should pay for KCB is 27 bob according to Benjamin Grahams formulae ie take the average of EPS for 7 years and multiply by 25.. The share is very close to is book value and thus it's a good company at a fair price!!!

@The Deal,

I am looking at KCB beyond 23rd July ..from August
I am still convinced fundamentals in KCB have not changed significantly to warrant such a drop in price

@Astute

That is key to investing

I keep my word, KCB is a buy at current prices.. rights and market price

The Deal,
By end of the year KCB will be over 20 bob, forget about the 17 bob you would like to bet. I am just liking the bashing the security is receiving. Unfortunately foreign investors will continue to get the bargain. Please read the Zurich Axioms. I will pick anything I get below 18.If it drops to 10 as people are predicting, I will offload all other shares and buy KCB. Tukutane next year.

Happy bargain hunters

I have just received the info memo. It concludes:'so we are running a very vibrant business that can only grow further if it has adequate capital and the operating environment remains favorable'.

The stats over the last five years, that is btw 2005 and 2009 are as follows: PBT up 323% from 1.95b to 6.5b. Net loans and advances was up 333% from 36b to 120b. Deposits were up 253% from 64b to 162b.

The additional funds are to support the bank's growth plans over the coming years and strngthen the capital base. The increased capital will enable the bank to book long term assets, such as loans for housing, and property development.
