Current, Harrier 3000cc, very powerful, well raised, very silent engine, good cruise, but a guzzler. Best i have done is 12kms/litre. Feels nice on the road.

how is it a guzzler doing 12km/l ? most of smaller cars above are doing almost the same 12 to 15, anyway this my dream car in few years to come i would be happy to see more reviews on this

We once car-pooled in a real guzzler. Trip to Migori homabay and back cost 16k. Calculated the thing was doing 5kplSad

5kpl? This would make a record in "Guinness Book of Record"

When I read @Gathige talk of 12kms/litre I wondered if he is talking about the same car. I have used a friend's Harrier 3000cc and it did about 7kms litre. My old land rover does about 5-7kms per litre and my other 2000cc vehicle does about 8 to 10 kms per litre. Hiyo ya @Gathige ni urongo mtupu.

I just think @Gathige is taking us for a ride here. Only people who have never owned vehicles would believe his stories on consumption. Or he does not know what he is talking about.

My first car was a Toyota Starlet EP91 , got it through a Wazuan.Had it for 2 years hivi .Sold it to top up and pay for a Honda Fit GD1 kwa jamaa alikuwa na loan ya Equity .Still running well i am used to .The Fit averages 15.5Km/L in my daily Ruiru - Westlands daily drives.

Has anyone got experience on the Hilux D4D 3000cc Diesel vehicles in terms on performance, economy and engine maintenance? 1KD-FTV?

Thinking of future expectations for both town drive and off-track.....

Same engine on the Toyota Hiace H200 model. Be kind to it, don't scrimp on maintenance and it should serve you well. If buying new, you may opt for the even newer 2GD-FTV engine.

I have had the best experience with my 2012 invincible exUK. bought it in 2017 with about 120k kilometres in the adometer.A friend advised me not to buy a prado which was expensive by 1.5 to 2 mil . When I took it I only replaced the front shoks and coil springs and rear shocks and since I had loose Change i went for the best the red ones ofcos. And tyres. From then i have not had any issue with the car to date. I have had it do a road trip of almost 1000km on less than 9k of fuel. I use it as my every day car which means it has never experienced any heavy load.I use and drive it the same way you would drive a vitz. Though I have never shied away from off-road situations. So far I have done more than 65k kilometres . With a lockable canopy it means my bags or luggage are secure at the back carrier.
Though your status will dip, you really feel good driving the car. Your General happiness index will move 10 notches higher when you realize you have a car better than the the prado and still you had 2m to spare . All you have to do is to regularly service the car and don't compromise on engine oil and avoid kiosk petrol stations.
Politics is just things to keep the people divided and foolish and put your trust in men and none of them can do nothing for you...
