It has been in the pipeline for long. it will actually come. The issue is whether it will come when the country needs it or not. and when it comes, it will come at what price. The earliest i can see it is 2023/24

In a similar 2015 PPP deal KenGen had awarded RentCo [Lantech+Toshiba] a KES 52B geothermal deal but the loser Russian firm OJSC Power Machines [+Transcentury,Civicon] appealed resulting in cancellation of the deal...may be due to corruption allegations in the deal KenGen parked it and did not re-advertise....until now.
