When is Mr. Profit Warning's appointment going to be confirmed?

@kaunganadodo is best placed to inform us.

This October should be plus the numbers...though this confirmation is not a sure bet...There could be baptism...Kenya Power & Lighting is becoming Kenya Power & Lightening...Hii ni Radi...

Radi itaonekana this coming week, friday will be the beginning of a long weekend

Radi Inaonekana....Just like St Pauls tells Romans...."You know what sort of times we live in,and so you should live properly. Its time to wake up. You know that the day when we will be saved is nearer now than when we first put our faith in the lord. Night is almost over ,and day will soon appear"...It will be a long night...the groom will come at night when the brides are asleep. Lucky is she who will be awake....

The groom will be coming tomorrow, Tuesday 29th to take the bride. The bride is not virgin, the groom doesn't mind, doesn't have time to check...Behold, ladies and Gentlemen, a new CEO

He is a Gideon Moi/Uhuru Kenya axis man. he was brought up in Kabarak, his old man used to be shamba boy wa mzee moi. He comes highly connected. as whether he can make any meaningful change at KPLC, its not within his means. His effort going forward can be best described as PARETO CONSTRAINED OPTIMAL. he can take KPLC to a maxima, but its not the global maxima.

Will Kenya power ever recover and start paying dividends?

Sure. There are push and pull by all bilateral and multilateral agencies to ensure its run commercially. there are sovereign guarantees the government gave Financiers like World Bank, AfDB,AFD, etc etc etc that may be called on if the company doesnt meet certain thresholds....High level recovery measures are in top gear. The company is on downward slope, but i don't think it will touch the ground or crash....even if its behaving like Silverstone Airlines

"Othieno, an insider, was appointed by Keter to stabilise things at the corporation.
Before his acting appointment, the once head of network management is said to have previously fallen out with top management after questioning ā€˜suspicious decisionsā€™, which saw him thrown to street lighting under the infrastructure department."

Conclusion: Othieno was too straight for Kenya Power.

Shame on you he did not mention shareholders specifically in his unveiling speech, I doubt if dividends are in his mind for now. Whenever you drive along Kenyan roads ,there is nothing representative of kplc failures like broken concrete poles all over.

Perhaps long term positioning... Same might be sold at 5, 6 bob or even higher -- a waiting game.

First difficulty will be st Sh3.55 levels. Very unlikely break and most intense difficulty will be at Sh3.90 levels.

Mombasa Cement Company set up its 36-megawatt wind farm in Kilifi for its operations due to the high cost of electricity and inefficient supply that have seen other companies also shift from relying on Kenya Power.

Devki has a 15MW coal plant in Kajiado. Can Wind Power offer stable supply? With no PPA with KPLC what they will do with power generated during their off peak when wind blows?
