Fresh controversy has emerged in Tob Cohen’s saga, this time over his multimillion estate, after a lawyer announced plans to open his will on Friday.
Kirundi and Company Advocates has written to lawyer Philip Murgor—who is retained by Cohen’s widow Sarah Wairimu, as well as a sister to the deceased Gabrielle, asking them to attend the opening
But Murgor has fired back a letter questioning the motive of opening a will whose contents were already published in a local newspaper on Monday, stating that Cohen had granted his sister Gabrielle the Sh400 million Kitisuru home.
“Our client is well aware, that any purported wills must be proved through an appropriate application to the High Court for probate to determine their validity. In the circumstances, we have been instructed not to attend to the proposed opening of the will ,” Murgor wrote. Murgors vigor is something else. This guy is good!! Hata mimi siku ile nitaua mtu nitatafuta yeye. Really...Ask Alex Chepkonga how he got slapped with death sentence in the Crooked Q shooting of Muiruri's son. He fired your guy and was set free in the appeal court or check out his sheer incompetence in the case of Kamlesh Patni http://kenyalaw.org/caselaw/cases/view/17094/

So Cohen didnt leave anything for his wife? Is that acceptable in law? Wouldn't that require him to show that none of that wealth was gotten, increased etc when Sarah was his wife? I am happy

You can be certain that Cohen received high level legal advice. Murgor is not fit to tie Chege Kirundi's shoe laces Truth forever on the scaffold Wrong forever on the throne (James Russell Rowell)

Also Moiruri will be very disappointed if he thinks cohen's sister will return to holland and leave the house to him eti because he was cohens best friend. I also think that foreigners should not be allowed to own property in kenya because they distort the market making property unaffordable to kenyans.

https://www.the-star.co....-according-to-his-will/
Quote:Murdered city tycoon Tob Cohen did not leave any of his property and money to his widow Sarah.
Cohen gave their Sh400 million matrimonial home, that has been the centre of a dispute, to his sister Gabrielle Van Straten and her children.
Cohen also willed 50 per cent of his estate to Gabrielle, 25 per cent to her two daughters and another 25 per cent to his elder brother Bernard Cohen.
One source close to Cohen’s family told the Star the deceased had Sh150 million in two separate bank accounts.
One account had Sh100 million while the other had Sh50 million.
However, the amount is to be shared only between Gabrielle and Benard with the former's children also benefitting from their uncles magnanimity.
His last wish, according to the will seen by Dutch sources, was that he be laid to rest according to Jewish tradition. He also gave directions about where his body will be laid to rest on Monday.

The vultures has smelt some carcass... Quote:Murgor said they are not concerned about the opening of the will but if it adversely affects Sarah's rights to her matrimonial home and her interest in the company, then she will contest.
“If the will affects her rights in any way she will contest it in the High Court, all the way to the Supreme Court if necessary," warned Murgor.
The opening of the will when Sarah is in remand is not an accident, he said.
Kirundi was also put to task to say when the late tycoon wrote the will but he declined to disclose only later stating that it might have been this year.
Also present at the opening of the will was Former MP Peter Muiruri.
