Kenya Re said they need to make efforts to improve their rating and that might involve additional write-offs of uncollectible premiums. Perhaps they are getting ready to adopt IFRS 9 among other standards. On the other hand, the cyclones that hit Mozambique and Zambia will hurt Kenya Re and Zep re. Greedy when others are fearful.
