Indeed the guy is confused.. To say that minority shareholders will be sold for a song and then KQLC shall be issued with bonds, simply sounds like borderline insanity.. Investor confidence will be irreparably broken at the NSE Questions: 1) What is KQ's NAV/share? 2) Why would investor confidence be irreparably broken? 3) Why should GoK compensate minority shareholders? 4) KQLC got guarantees. Did minorities get the same? Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett

GoK,KLM, KQLC and ME both hold the same class of shares...so GoK will make an offer...I don't think the banks will accept a haircut...question is how does broke GoK pay us? They can have two options...
1. Bonds to KQLC,KLM and 2. Cash to Minority shareholders 3. Option of 1 and 2 to any shareholder

Why did KQLC come in just under 2 years ago to dilute minority shareholders and then GoK steps in to buy them out and conveniently forget that the shares held by KQLC are at our cost. Extremely dodgy reasoning COOP 70,000 ABP 15.20; HF 90,000 ABP 3.83; KQ 414,100 ABP 7.92; MTN 23,800 ABP 6.45

It may have seemed voluntary but the reality is that banks want their loans repaid and not shares in dying firms. So only KQLC should be bought out. Greedy when others are fearful. Extremely dodgy reasoning 1) KQLC didn't voluntarily exchange loans for shares. Banks like to be repaid in cash not shares - especially so in loss-making firms with negative equity. 2) KQ was insolvent when the DE conversion happened. KQLC were conned. 3) KQ's was bankrupt before the DE Conversion. Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett

Is he suggesting; 1. That the KQLC banks be given GOK Treasury bonds for their shares in KQ; or 2. KQ to issue corporate bonds to KQLC banks in lieu of the the shares. Life is short. It is just a passing observation. Like I said: kuna watu watajua hawajui!
