A dividend from KPLC this year with all the drama? That would be interesting.
Did KPLC declare a dividend last year?

Kplc has both preference and ordinary shares.Last year, ordinary shareholders received nothing but preference shareholders were given dividends.
With this projection,we are not sure whether ordinary shareholders will be included this time.

d'oh! Ignore the pref shares. They have very few pref shares outstanding. Nominal dividends in total paid on pref shares.

This year KPLC will have to declared a dividend and they always give 0.50 cents as DPS

KPLC doesn't "have to" declare anything. The decision is made at the Board Level. Of course, there may be some directors whose interests are influenced by other factors.

BUT I digress. This is a KenGen thread.

Correct even the 300M was not realized. Even the 500M will not be realized this year. Infact it will be the Treasury which will be asked to give KPLC some MONEY

June last year the current liabilities were 106B and current assets were 54B. No cash for dividends. In addition, there was a dividend payable of 800m meaning KPLC has not even paid GOK dividends for prior years.

KPLC at the current state of cashflow can't pay dividends.
Once it reaches positive cashflow is when they shall pay
