That's close to $1bn

UPDATE
$1bn = ksh 999.999bn +1

Not
Ksh 99.99bn +1

USD 1bn = (approx) KES 100bn so the "Ksh 99.99bn +1" it is.

What's nuts is that Safcom is 45%-ish of the total value of the NSE.
If the "zombies" are eliminated then Safcom is close to 50%.

Profitability is solid.

However ,I'm more concerned with the continuous decline in revenue growth to 7% ( 2018- 10% ,2017- 18%) .

My guess is the share will hit 30 max and decline to mid-20's in the very short-term

Great stuff Applause Applause though I do not understand why supply is 8x demand. I thought it would go to 30+ but now I see it has lost 0.55, from 29.55 to 29.00. Oh well, if it goes down, time to load more.

impressive saf while the rest of the country is going down, hope GoK does not push for a Kenyan at the helm, When is the books closure?

Safaricom’s incremental dividend payouts have returned the entire capital of the company’s owners and left them with an additional Sh101.2 billion, highlighting the enormous returns enjoyed by the telco’s long-term investors.

The Nairobi Securities Exchange(NSE)-listed firm went public On June 9, 2008 at an offer price of Sh5 or an aggregate value of Sh200 billion.

Last week’s declaration of a total dividend of Sh74.92 billon for the year ended March took Safaricom’s cumulative payouts to Sh301.2 billion since the initial public offering (IPO).

The company’s upcoming dividend represents a compound annual growth rate of 30.52 per cent from the Sh4 billion it paid for the year ended March 2009.

“The board remains committed to investing in the business and continuing our strong record for paying progressive dividends each year,” Safaricom said when announcing its results last week, adding that its balance sheet remains strong.

Safaricom should consider making an acquisition in Uganda for UTL in a partnership with the Uganda Government where safaricom is the majority shareholder.
The Uganda government is shopping for a buyer to acquire a majority stake of about 61-69%.

SCOM has introduced free YouTube on its lower cost all-in-one bundle packages.

The Sh1,000 and Sh2,000 packages are offering consumers 5GB worth of free YouTube in addition to free WhatsApp, with the extras seen as the telco’s response to increased competition.

I know Interim Dividends and Final Dividends. What are these things SCOM is calling "Normal" and "Special" Dividend?

normal dividend is final dividend while special dividend is a one off dividend paid out of accumulated reserves

You'd have to fill a form to update your CDS account details via your CDA (Central Depository Agent, aka your stockbroker) and select your preference for dividend payment as M-Pesa.

Not really.

In recent years [2015 & 2017], Williamson Tea has paid dividends even after recording net losses. Those dividends were paid from accumulated reserves but they weren't called "Special".

This "special dividend" is a Safaricom invention!

They're special in the sense that shareholders shouldn't expect it to be the "new normal", but can anticipate a Sh1.25/share dividend (or an adjustment of the same) in their projections.
