I didn't know we have our own "Fortune 500". Safaricom ranked no.62. Kenya managed 10 entries into the list.

SafCon
79.
EABL
96.
EQTY
100
KCB
Not bad. Even more interesting;
SafCon
has been rising
the past 6 years and now beats SA heavy-hitters like Anglo-American Platinum,
Investec and RMB Holdings. Let's pull up our socks and get a few in the top ten in the next 5 years.

Unless people are opening different reports, this one is based on revenues. And KQ are second in Kenya after Safaricom.

The only true problem that KQ had apart from cartels was the high financial costs which were tackled hard by the restructuring..

Wow! Steinhoff made it all the way to no.3 on account of fudging books. Some work that must have been.

@Obiero... the high financial costs you refer to are related to assets or human capital?
I found meaningful work🤓

This is all rich countries of African continent, for sure it's good to have, but there are lof of smaller and really poor countries. Of course there is good life in Morrocco, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, even Egypt and so on. Good to see some progress on that list anyway.

I would think the market cap would reflect more accurately the value of companies across of industries.
Some industries with huge revenues have very low margins and vice versa
