we are a shithole country, we should be concentrating on food and water security for now.

Why shouldn’t they hang? It’s a question of large numbers - it’s bound to happen. They are not “substandard” they are machines operated by humans and thus is bound to happen.

Watu wajilishe hiyo sio kazi ya serikali , it’s really not government’s job to keep you alive or your children.

safaricom has over 20 million customers. why don't their system hang so frequently

perhaps you need to inform yourself on 'what is hanging'.... the enrollment device? the server? systems in between? if it's the enrollment device - it's like a phone hanging... safcom has 20million phones connected to it and if your phone hangs it does not mean "everything" has "hang".

even with the phone analogy, these are new kits (phone), how many new non 3rd rate Chinese phones hang on the first day?

Yes... how many phones are taking photos and fingerprints all day long and syncing to servers e.t.c.

I guess safaricom handles millions of videos and photos which sync through their servers per day especially through whatapp and Facebook data.I'm not an it person but I guess these are much more graphically heavier than fingerprints

Sir your photos and videos are stored on your phone not on Safaricom's server . If you ditch safaricom, you will still have access to your data through Airtel/Telcom/WiFiyajirani etc. What safaricom provides you is that invisible "pipe" to transmit, or you can say to send or receive that photo through whatsapp and FB. Whatsapp, FB, Iphone, Samsung, goolgle have servers all over the world those are the ones that store your nudes and kathalikas. Once they (Whatapp & FB) go down like it happened in March the world is in the dark.

Seems you are the only one who hasn't experienced MPESA issues when the server is down. Or do you remember the congested/connected eras? What caused that?

haki naona Ka mnaniangaisha.safaricom does syncing to transmit the nudes from my phone to muchr's phone through this pipe.I agree that once the transmission is done the nudes are stored in muchr's phone and he can store them in cloud for future reference incase a 'linturi' show up when it is least needed , he can't rise to the occasion and he is scoring a dee minus below the belt.why is that the government can't reach such efficiency in the transmission and storage with all its 'unlimited' resources?.how many times do you get server issues with mpesa..I guess its not more than 1% of all the time..

I want to believe that the pipe transmitting the data from the client to the server is getting congested since the server has to send some data back to confirm that your data has been stored (the auto generated huduma number). The govt infrastructure is not as rebust as safaricom, and thats not a big deal....they do not need that capacity anyway.

If lets say we all didn't show up to register at the same time then the process wouldn't take long, machines would probably not jam. But since that was the first day....consider every tablet trying to submit data at the same time...that most definitely would cause a jam (just like thika rd traffic jam). Like those congested/connected days when we all of us wanted to make that cheap phonecall at 8pm...messages/calls never went through.
