In Game of Thrones Season Seven, How was the Night King Planning on passing the wall if he had not had a dragon?
Apparently, that is the wrong question. Watch the scene again and pay attention.
After surrounding Jon Snow’s band of merry adventurers, the Night King just sat on his horse and waited.
Why?
It’s certainly not because of some silly lake.
The Night King could have easily finished off everyone with his incredible spear chucking prowess.
Or after the lake froze over, he could have sent his armies forward instead of having them sit around until after Clegane throws his rock.
And on top of that, why was the Night King personally leading a massive army of thousands into a battle against a band of 10?
There is only one explanation that is consistent with these observations.
The Night King is a green seer who foresaw Daenerys’ dragons arriving to rescue Jon Snow in the nick of time, and also his killing one of her three and winning himself an Ice Dragon.
He didn’t need a contingency plan.
Everything he did prior was to scare Jon Snow and the Night’s Watch generally so that his capture of an ice dragon vision could come to pass.
