Wazuans, early this year, foreign investors came in big helping to give the NSE the long-awaited boost.

1. Is there a minimum holding period for foreign investors?

2. What are their favourite counters?

3. Those who have the info, is there any buyign or selling activity by foreigners that is indicative?

There is a paid service I use (live.mystocks.co.ke) that provides trading info for foreigners...

The liquid counters esp Safaricom is a favorite... Others are Kenol, KQ & I can see KPLC being attractive as well... A recent favorite has been Co-op Bank...

No minimum holding period... Sell as soon as shares are credited to the CDS account but most would be long-term coz of transaction & forex costs...

Foreigners can be divided into two categories :-

(i) Foreign Institutional Investors
(ii) Retail Foreign investors

Transaction by (ii) like me are very insignificant as they are small amounts /voulume.

For (2) using Databank Fund Managers as an example :-

Industrials:- KPLC, EABL,
Commercial:- Safcom, NMG
Financial:- BBK,KCB,JUB, Equity

They are either buying or offloading (selling)

Have you seen the large buy-ins today 470k shares (+3 bob)?

BTW, am more of a speculator than an investor
