Please do not throw stones at me for asking this simple question jameni.
Why is it that many middle class bakenya property owners are not ashamed that they live in palatial mansions but their plot is unsightly bush?
In other words, why are many middle class bakenya seemingly unconcerned about landscaping? Sample what a difference good landscaping does to a plot/property. Na sio kazi mingi. 30 minutes or less a day and the bonus is it is good exercise. If you are too lazy teach your mfanyii to do it for you while you are at work or at your business.

And surely it cannot be the lack of money. Most blow thousands upon thousands per day on fombe and nyamchoms. Good landscaping costs little to nothing!

Ni hayo maoni yangu tu!

Terrible landscaping

one of the beautiful things about travelling east and learning from other cultures was the concept of feng shui-harmonize the individual and the environment. Most of the stress will actually emanate from your home environment. If it is cluttered you will feel cluttered. Proper landscaping has a way of rejuvenating your life.

I would prefer unsightly bush to these hideous cabro filled plots any day. Imagine a 1/4 acre full of cabro and buildings tu. Whoever comes home to such a place will definitely suffer from clinical depression.

Also it seems Kenyans are allergic to flowers and flowerbeds even in high end estates despite our wonderful climate.

While we could be doing this....imagine the scent of roses and other flowers in your home all year round?

On landscaping, which brand has the most reliable lawnmower/grass cutter? My slasher is not doing a good job

Go to the Game Store at Garden city mall or Waterfront mall Karen and get a reel mower and it does a good job. Costs about 10k and your lawn will look like a premier league football field. It's manual and will give you some nice exercise on weekends. I have one that has served me many yrs.

Keep an eye on the meshing gears of the manual mower. At some point you will realize it doesn't work like it used to due to wear. Unfortunately, those gears are made of a non-machinable cast steel. Getting spares is almost impossible. A petrol driven one does not have this problem. Talking of make, I think a Stratton & Briggs mower is the game... My two Zim dollars.
