All 10000 and loss money, since i bought at 32.25 and 27 (average 29) and sell at around 18. @Gems normally i wouldnt advise one to sell at a but it might take one or two years for KCB to get back to your average buy price and i dont think its worth the wait especially with some of the bargains on the NSE that can help you re coup your losses Mark 12:29 Deuteronomy 4:16

I think whoever is still holding KCB is literally commiting financial suiside.Can u please bail OUT.... this stock i headed for Ksh 10.00 thereof. @the deal i totally feel you.i think very many people will be burned by this share when it hits rock bottom.The cue to dump this share shld have come when it hit Ksh 19.00 atleast for me. With such bad sentiments on this bank is it still debatable that the rights issue has failed even before it has started ???????? Get out !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! @ Sparkly - Kindly email me the e-book. I really need to read this book. Warren Buffet says it's the best investment book ever written. And I have a habit of taking him seriously!!! Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

@Dumb investor
I bought KCB at 27 and failed to sell at the 32/33 peak of 2008 when u entered. I still have them.
Listen to the advice here with one ear closed. Those who do not have KCB, will urge a sell, dump, no taking rights so the price can get closer to a desirable entry point for them.
Those who have it, like me will advise a HOLD and Averaging as the KCB fundamentals are not impaired in any way. Why sell and buy other "lucrative" deals whose future u do not know for sure? do that still but with new funds. U asked for advise, do;
1.like me, by hanging on to the 10,000 but forget them for another two years or even 3. Divs are not bad at all.
2.like those advising u to dump, only don't dump, but average down when others dump and this category of advisers start entering....but the price has to be really low for this option...considerably below 17... otherwise,
3. use your new funds on other counters such as KPLC when the time comes..
either way, stay put, KCB as a business is as sound as when you bought in, if not better!

@ Gems - I always ask people one question at a time like this. Do you have a better counter, one that you understand and believe will perform extremely well in mind? Then you can cut your losses and take your money there. In your case, I don't believe you have (from your question on the best counter to put your balance in). I would suggest you stay put, don't take up your rights, wait for the share price to drop significantly and then average down at that point - as the rest of us are getting in. KCB is not about to collapse. But you can be sure the share price will drop further before rising! I'm sure some Wazuarian will ask why you should simply not sell the shares (at approx 18.5) and then use the same money (plus some more) to get back in at a lower price - say 14 - 15. To that I have no answer. I find it hard to accept a loss and thereby choose to hold (for a long time) if the fundamentals are right. Best approach? Of course not. But that's how I do it. To be honest with you, this KCB share is a terrible thing to have at the moment. Most of us are just lucky we are not in. If we were we would be probably more confused than you! Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

The answer is under your nose actually .... it is only 14-15 post-facto. Otherwise, it is rightly x-y, *unknowns*.
