I have asked around and the main issues when it comes to starting up a laundromat is the electricity and water expenses. I, for one, would not mind having my clothes cleaned for me. It saves me time and takes the water and electricity expense off my hands.

When I say Laundromat, am thinking of it, Kenyan style, just get machines, employ people to carry out the cleaning, and the ironing for your customers.

Well I guess you don't think enough!!!
What Kenyan style?? To suggest there is one when there isn't is not bright!
Okay who did you ask around for information was it the successful chain of laundromats which do it "Kenyan style"
How do you think hundred of thousand of Kenyans do it. They hire househelps and the for those who dont want to just get a househelp to come for the day!
The electricity and water cost will still be transferred to you through the cost of the service. So how exactly do you save on water and electricity???

Why can't you just answer a question politely? Your manner of speech is barbaric. Not only on this thread but on all the other threads that I have seen your posts. As if to try to prove to people that you are smart..and knowledgeable.

well... this discussion quickly degenerated into shows of ego, that's for sure. None of this is helping us. i will avail myself for intellectual discussions when needed. Oh, and yes i HAVE used laundromats before. i do like what's his name's idea of getting employees to do drop offs/pickups when necessary. And i do agree that it is important to look at things from a kenyan perspective/kenyan market. i lived in europe. u do practically everything urself right down to packing ur own groceries. so because labour is cheap here, the approach can be tweaked. My two cents... :)

@Bony storck and saleadict....
The kenyan market is kadonye economy .....
From cybers cafes. .......
To used clothes .......
How do you want majority to pay a premium .......
For their mainly 2 hand clothes .......
(Please dont counter with i dont buy second hand clothes thats .......
Stupid )
Being senior managment consultants .........
You should know the principle of keep cost down at all costs ............
Well labour in kenya is definately not free .....
and you idea of cheap is not cheap at all .....
So word of advice tone down your ego .......
Be relevant ........

@ Muhkamba ....
I apologise again for making of of you ........
