Does this govt have any advisors? Why would fuel cost higher in Kenya than neighbouring countries unless as a result of failed policies?

When govt pays exam fees for all pupils, pays maternity fees for all, buys text books for all pupils, tarmacs village cattle tracks, lays strategies to provide 5000mw that is not needed, buys laptops, dishes money to counties then they start scratching heads how to spend, borrows from China in lopsided deals, etc, the end result is what you see now

It's said to be the 'cost of transformation' that need not be postponed.

The problem with the narrative is that the transformation hasn't been well explained or it doesn't fit at all.

For example, what happens to the disposable income per person after the transformation? I hoped the banker would say guys are saving to earn on interest after the two years.

It's more probable that more and more people will be poorer after the two years...

Why didn't we have VAT on fuel to start with? Was it scrapped, zero rated or it was always this way?

Middle class noise. The farmer is quietly paying it on pesticides.

Because fuel was already overtaxed with other "unnatural" taxessmile smile
1)Road maintenance
2)Petroleum regulatory
3)Petroluem development levy
4)remission Levy

Fuel is one commodity that is heavily taxed

If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

That's why we've always advised govt to focus on jobs, jobs, jobs. Then people can earn their own money and spend it. When govt dish free money to people, buy luxuries people can do without, etc you kill the economy. Economics 101
