The Public Procurement Information Portal is now officially up and running.

This is an excellent opportunity to observe “corruption in the making” or is it?

Take, for example, a private company named Weld “Con” Limited

Reason For Award: This is the only bidder who proceeded to financial evaluation and met the set evaluation criteria
Tanks and Vessels construction at KPRL, Changamwe, Kipevu Oil Terminal, Mombasa

No permit Number. Permit number “expired”

3 out of 4 Director Details missing

Missing details include ID numbers and nationality.

Have a look and make your own judgment. (Link)

That's serious but i want to make a guess and i think i am right. A Kenyan, a registered organization calling itself MOMBASA COMPANY SECREATRIES and two non-Kenyans. Most likely of Indian origin and they are the ones providing steel erection and rigging expertise.

The Portal itself is a good start but i also notice 18 public and private registered companies without namesPray. How is this possible??Sad
