Power costs for households will from Wednesday rise by up to 54 per cent. Homes that consume 50 kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity per month will pay 54 per cent more at Sh1,067 in August, up from sh695 in July. ....He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion..

How has that 54% been calculated? in my case this month I paid 1,000/- and got 60.4 units, then paid another 1,000/- and got 43.8 units, the second buy is always the most painful, so for 2,000/- I got 104.2 units which is 19.19/- per unit, if the announced rates are all inclusive ERC says I will pay 15.8/- per unit so my 2,000/- will get me 126 units, no a bad offer. I might be wrong but this is my understanding. To Each His Own

We cried high and inflated power bills. That was our mistake. We should have laughed.

Try purchasing 104 Units in August 2018 under new tariffs and update us if it was really cheaper. When your pocket starts hurting you will figure out the truth.

Increasing taxation turns people into slaves. Pale Twitter everyone is crying, from getting 64 units for a 1000 to getting 45 units, power just became unaffordable for most, I see many small businesses closing down, power consumption to go down, just like the car import duty tax, Kenyans just imported less cars, the peak demand will go down To Each His Own

The consumer representative, COFEK, was already compromised and was rooting for Kenya Power.
