I had noticed something and wondered if I was the only one seeing it. Most Chinese people I know smoked... they were always Chinese people in gambling dens and dingy red light districts and always wondered to myself if it was just the people I met/saw who were like this... Then while reading Lee Kuan Yew's memoirs I came across the term "Yellow culture". And what I had observed finally had a name...

The term “yellow culture” is a direct translation of the Chinese phrase huangse wenhua, which refers to decadent behaviour such as gambling, opium-smoking, pornography, prostitution, corruption and nepotism that plagued much of China in the 19th century.

He declared war on it in Singapore.

A friend (an American) told me that the drug problem/culture in the US began after the Vietnam veterans returned from war. Seems like its a culture thin in Asia

But you clearly stated that you know, met or saw those people who are engaged in those activities. What are we supposed to conclude?
