@jojkar, the big question is the timeframe of your investment horizon.

Jubilee currently has the lowest PE in Finance sector (ignoring NBK, KenyaRe) and is 3/4 largest shareholder in both Diamond Trust and TPS Serena.

So if you have something worthwhile to do with the money, you can sell... But if you are still investing for the long term, what would you buy instead and for how long would you hold it?

@muganda..ok my aim is to get into short term with the money. plus i was really looking for an answer on the price..is it at a peak?... is a split around the corner? should i get me some centums pre-bonus? should i add my kq stocks? ...am simple, i research but am not too technical, thats where you experts come in. we can say am speculating..and seriously contemplating at the same time. so i need a pitch man. so i need suggestions...

There typically tends to be a sell off once investors pocket their div/bonus share issue so you do need to get your timing right.
If you want a short-term play, then you need to look at stocks that will soon have an event (dividend payout) or announcing full year results which you can ride until just before book closure.
If you want investments, then there are still a afew good plays

I agree with @Wa_ithaka, if you have already made some profit in your books then you can exit now since the share goes XA in a few days time - maybe 14th June.

In my opinion however, the best thing to do would be to keep those shares (eat the bonus and dividend) and look for some other money for the new riskier plays. The plays are always riskier with uncertain rewards - or maybe I've become too old for my years?

The NSE right now is riddled with oppotunities. Just throw a coin on any stock and i am sure u'll be able to make a profit. In this bull market that is very possible. But seriously tiein ur money with jubille isnt doin any gud. Whynt liquidate and invest in KQ. Especially now in a recovering world economy.

Jubilee is a gem...why sell a gem...unless you want to move into another gem...

@jojkar last week i asked wazurians in another thread about Jubilee because i was expressing tremendous interest in the counter so it baffles me that you want to sell...

i picked up a fairly sized chunk last week around last week at 178bob which i'm holding for no less than 5 years....

its not every year you have the NSE rallying 35% and hence listed market players (centum, Jubilee, OCH, Kenya Re, CFC) all stand to benefit tremendously in this years results....

i also do not expect the share to stay much longer without a split which will boost demand and liquidity which may be currently responsible for its low P/E...

it also has a good management, its using its retained earnings to boost its business, it has an improving underwriting profitability and most especially it has very attractive yield....

i could go on and on and on......

thanks all all this info really helps..i had been pondering the sale because ive had these stocks since the 80's so as far as their value, dividends and bonuses..theyve earned their fair share..way over 2000%, plus yesterday's book closure might have just been the exit button for me..but i wouldnt mind waitin alittle if a split is inevitable..although am content with either decision i make. i want the liquid to spread out my portfolio.
