The state of Indiana has passed a law that basically protects businesses from being sued if they refuse to sell goods and services to people based on their (business) religious beliefs.
At the moment, there are some businesses e.g. bakeries and caterers that refuse to bake cakes or cater for Gay weddings. The Gay couple could sue these businesses for discrimination. With the new law, you cannot sue the businesses because they can simply say that their religion does not allow them to play any role in a Gay marriage.
There is furore from all corners of the US from Apple's CEO to Hillary Clinton, Starbucks, PayPal etc.
Question: Should I be required by the law to cater for an LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) wedding for example? Personally I would have a problem with that! Exactly where do you draw the line between my freedoms and the freedom of others?
I support the spirit of the law. Others would call it discriminatory. What is your take?
