@maka - Weren't buddy passes being given/sold to "buddies" so it wasn't just the employee BUT potential paying pax?
How much did a buddy pass pax pay?
If a buddy pax is only paying for taxes [which are given to GoK or other jurisdictions] then KQ has no advantage.

Were buddy passes being misused?

Loopholes leading to revenue leakage. It is even better for the plane to fly empty rather than these Ngunze's half baked ideas.

This guy called Mikosz knows exactly the underlying issues affecting the financial performance of the Airline. I wish he continues on this role for 5+ years.
Mikosz ran an airline. Neither Naikuni nor Ngunze did so. Experience helps.

@maka why would a KQ staff want to fly haphazardly rather than concentrate on his/her job.. plus stating that revenue would be zero isn’t true. incase the staff genuinely needs to fly, he/she would still pay up at market rate

Let's say am flying to the states... I pay full fare on KQ to Amsterdam then I get a subsidized rate on Delta because it's on Skyteam... Even employees will stop flying KQ... Anyway it will not be scrapped for good that am 100% sure now...

What position did Musila moved to? KLM now taking a tight grip of KQ. At 62, that is a retiree from KLM.

1) US pushed to September...
2) 2 dreamliners coming back home...

1. Bad news
2. Good news

Are the dreamliners being returned early or is it as a result of end of lease period? as per this link, the dreamliners should be back 2019 at the earliest...

What about the 777s? will they be sold off or come back with a potential to fly NBO-JFK? I think the code share with delta will grant them a very good connectivity network with the americas

Habari ndio hii https://www.businessdail...8052-4v0r0cz/index.html

Must have had a clause for early recall... Coz without those 2 planes there is only 1 extra dreamliner on standby the one that used to go to Hanoi and HK...

777 honestly sijui... The 1st 6 months on that route will be loss making...

Going cowboy to USA seems risky but I wish KQ good luck and Godspeed. USD 999 on Economy to JFK is dirt cheap

Compe...

People who live in Glass Houses should not throw stones. I don’t think a single frequency to USA is overly ambitious.
