Bottomline: You get paid if you produce VALUE except for government, NGO or UN jobs!
So for those who think pay is low (i.e. you produce more than you are worth)... quit. Simple. QUIT.
The real wealth is NOT created by working for someone else. Do your own thing. I have changed jobs over the years. Whether it was job satisfaction or otherwise. Normally it was for more cash!
Then I quit my job. I started out on my own. Not easy but I hope I can make enough not to work unless I want to... NOT EASY... so someone who thinks I underpay them can go to hell... I pay for value not so I can support your kids! None of my employees had ever said: "Boss, we know things are ngumu this month, please cut our salos". Finally, after PEV 2008 I had to let them go. Now I outsource as needed.
So whether you work for Barclays, Equity (lots of complaints about them lakini how many quit?), Mhindi (lots of complaints yet few quit), government OR anyone else and you feel underpaid... QUIT
Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, Mukesh Ambani, Carlos Slim, Lakshmi Mittal, Sam Walton... None of these were EMPLOYEES... They are all self-made and EMPLOYERS...
Sam Walton (founder of Walmart) created 1000s of jobs (well, he did run out many smaller businesses lakini that is maisha na biashara)...
Nakumatt was a small enterprise 30 years ago. I read somewhere that the founder copied K-Mart (USA)... Today it is one of Kenya's largest employers... Apparently, the (original) owners of Tusky's were employees of Nakumatt who then ventured out on their own...
Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett
