Asante. Lower than my estimates. I had 5-7. What is breakdown between Operating Profits & Comprehensive Profits?

Staff costs up by 2.1bn (including back pay). I hope the staff start working harder to justify the additional pay...

Price dropping like a rock. Down to 54.50 (from 56.50 yesterday)...
EPS looks weak but NAV is 43/- (recent KES depreciation vs US$ will boost 'value'of planes in KES)...
Anyone at the Briefing? What are prospects for 2010?

[/quoti'm impressed a PAT of 2.035 Bil in a recession is no joke...most airlines are making huge losses...the share price has nothing to do with the business...its suffering from demand-supply dynamics....

I didn't expect to see
red
on this counter today, so this (share price movement) is definitely not good news. But one thing is for sure, I ain't bailing out yet. Mind you, I am heavily invested in this counter! This might be temporary and does not reflect the performance of the company. The last time KQ announced their results, the share price took a beating for a week or so and then from there it was up and up. No need to panic - it leads to irrational behaviour!
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

@ gov. I agree w/ u. This is just a temporary movement. Because how can a company make such a big profit from a string of losses in the past years and the share price moves south ? I believe there ar bargain hunters waitin for this share at 50.00. And they'll push this price up to the resistance of 66.00. PLEASE DONOT PANIC SELL. there is nothin warrantin panic selling.

these results are fair but we must all expect this counter to sell off reason being that the results are way lower than expected and the dividend yield is a mere 1.7% until this time next year...
i dont expect the counter to fall heavily but IMHO if anyone is expecting a serious rise in the share price then they would be expecting too much...

@ guru267. U want to tell me that this counter willnt reach 66.00 inthe comin days . I thats being to pesimistic. Or hav u panic sold .LOL. I chose 66.00 (1 year high) coz if it crosses this price the next stop over'll b at 74.00. Surelly things cannot b that bad. What was the expectation 1 trillion. ???? LOL. LOL

Not good at all
Turnover down 1b from prior period
Operating profit down 2.2b despite 5.7b reduction in fuel costs
Overheads up 3.4b (28%)
Meaning, were it not for the 6.1b gains in fuel valu derivatives, this company would have repored a loss of 3.6b
