VERY TRUE, the ERJs burn 960kgs to a flight like NB0-MBA and carry 72, while the B737NGs burn about 1900Kgs with 2 more cabin crew to coast.The B737NG carries 116 pax. Interestingly the ERJs are made in the 3rd world(Brazil) but are quite modern.
However, ERJs are not very good to routes like Maputo, where they have to make a tech-stop(fuel stop) in Kamuzu,lilongwe.
