Kudero should move with speed and remove these structures in westlands built on riparian areas just like he is doing in huruma.

Whatever happened to Michuki's and Mutula's(may their souls rest in peace) plans of managing the metropolis Nairobi river basin into waterways and greenzones like some cities have done in Europe. Complete with trading zone..gondolas...I see a big opportunity for PPP if only Kidero can see as far as the two gentlemen. The drainage reclamation should be a blessing not a wounding sore it is now. Who are the new visionaries of this generation..not pseudo fake neo-eco warrior actvists.

This is what I wrote about 2 weeks ago. And it has come to pass.

Juzi I was at westgate and noticed that the river that used to flow hapo inje is now all parking, all concrete without any sign of the river. Hope mother nature will hit back and teach the grabbers a lesson. I thought the law says the protected riparian zone extends 30m on each side of the river. At Westgate the parking is bang on the river, literally. They put a concrete slab on the river and made it the parking zone. Kidero and the former lands minister Orengo have a lot to answer for this state of affairs.

For those who have shopped in Nakumatt UKAY (not the armchair eastlandos and Nairobi Westers), you will realize that actually the Supermarket is built on the basement...some meters below the river bed.

Am looking at a website that gives a 10 day forecast and it states that on the night of March 1, Embakasi is set to receive about 92mm or 3.6 inches of rain. Lets see if that comes to pass.

March 1 92mm Embakasi (Nairobi Area, Kenya) forecast issued: 2 pm Sat 24 Feb local time

So in essence the Kenya Met Service don't predict they just look at historical patterns.
