@ jaribu You have a point to some extent. Some of the most gruesome things happen in Africa. But you know what they say two wrongs will never make a right,it is WRONG,for them to kill Africans like that just as much as it is wrong to skin the albinos. Africans are trying and we will put our house in order. But that does not mean that meanwhile they continue killing us until that happens. We are all humans at the end of the day and we do deserve our respect.

akowally.

we shouldn't complain too much when we are targeted since we have shown the world we don't respect the sanctity of human life. who can forget the gruesome and macabre killing of that south sudanese boy in komarock the other day. the kid was slaughtered like a goat, his eyes gouged out,his jaws uprooted and his private parts chopped off. this was reported in the world's media. so far as you may have guessed,no one has been arrested. not any time soon unless you cough up kitu kidogo. the savage scum responsible is still roaming free ready to strike again. imagine if the parents of that kid were rich and famous, dozens of suspects could by now have been rounded up. too bad in africa we worship money. let's respect ourselves. others will respect us! africa is potentially the richest continent in the world. democratic rep of congo is believed to have the most valuable minerals deposits in the world. it has huge deposits of gold, diamonds, oil, natural gases, copper etc. but just look at the nation today. it's an eyesore. a scar on the concious of humankind. a complete joke although it's leaders ride on top of the range hummers. pea brain cannibals killing and roasting humans! need i say more? in kenya, our pathetic govt will readily splash out ksh300m on vp's house while masses starve to death. did you watch that clip yesterday on tv news whereby poor women trek for days, then wait for about 3 days for water to arrive through pipes? 300m being spent on vp's home is enough to build about 100 boreholes in turkana, garissa, isiolo etc. you get the leaders you deserve. so that means we are just pathetic......and deep in our hearts we know it. we can continue slumbering on in denial,or get a rude awakening when our countries like somalis, darfur, sierra leone etc go up in flames. africans,we are living in beautiful lies. amkeni ndugu zetu!

African... Endangered species?

Absolutely not.

They/we breed like flies.

Have you ever noticed that even where they show pictures of starving and dieing Africans, there is always a woman with a child hanging on her breast and probably one on her back? One thing is for sure,we are not an endangered species. We seem to have survived all the holocusts enumalated within this post, including the dreaded AIDs. There is one thing we are very good at. Giving birth under any circumstance. Endangered,Na

A society that does not question perishes away...

The respect for the dignity and integrity of human life at all moments of life( from conception to natural death) is a right that should be upheld by all. I think the surgeons can better advice us whether a human being whose skin is black and one whose skin is white shed blood that is different in colour.

The African person is Pro-lific and values the family unit which more often than not shapes the human being. They value and respect the sanctity of human life.

Fact: 35% of Worlds resources are held in Africa. Who benefits from these resources and could this be a factor to our continued delapidation? Could it be that since we are such rich we invoke envy from others and they would want to gain access to the said resources and control them at whatever cost- funding militia, civil unrest et al. I am just wondering if we have an artillery factory in Africa that freely supplies for e.g the Congo rebels...

Point to Note: Between 1776 (when it gained independence) and by the end of 2007,America had lost 50 million babies through legal abortion. Well, that is like the whole population of Kenya and Uganda. Thanks to the Roe V. Wade court ruling.

Emotive responses on the way we butcher and kill our people, for e.g,in the Kiambaa Church, should not be construed to mean that we are Africans are naturally barbaric...death by chemicals, surgicals, civil unrest or any other artificial ways remains death perpetuated by human beings in unnatural ways.

Point to Note: As of 2003,the population density of England was 243 persons per square kilometre. Assuming the Kenyan population is 40m,then we can estimate the population density to be about 58 persons per square kilometre. In some quarters we are adviced that if we continue with the same trend of bearing children,we shall experience population explosion. I think there is strength in numbers- Military, tax paying etc and more so,more brains to help us alleviate human suffering through innovation and creativity.

Marie Stopes and Margaret Sanger, the forces behind the establishment of International Planned Parenthood Federation had a vision for thorough breds- human beings devoid of any short comings and absolute control over human beings fertility. I am not sure what they had in mind, but the kind of absolute freedom concept that is advocated by those in the West and quickly infiltrating into the African culture might be one of their key perfomance indicators.

In my opinion, the problems we are facing emanate from mis allocation and misappropriation of resources and governance. Population is not the issue ( you cannot afford to miss that extra brain-knowledge-and the two hands!). Westernization is not the panacea. Nor is the donor funding. African challenges call for African solutions.

If all of us are not safe, then none of us is.

@ gichini. well put
@ jaribu. They say real change starts with us as individuals and I am assuming that you are already working on yourself. Still these barbaric acts do not and cannot justify other people doing the same to Africans as a whole. Give credit where credit due and also punish those who deserve. You cannot punish a whole school for mistakes of one class.

I do think its because everything a black man touches florishes.look at the world now who are the best atheletes, who are the best sportmen, who are the best dancers, which race has the highest tolerance for disease,......name them all in all its the black.

All the other races no that if everyblack man is given a chance ......that race will dorminate the wolrd!

Hi all,

i was reading an article in the Economist journal and i can tell you that the author of the article has depicted the Africans on a very bad light.....the article partly explains why the rest of the world is very jittery about Africa....read the article here:

The endangered species is the White coloured chaps.

That is why they have to paint that black coloured fellow badly to create negative energy.

Who created industry in the white lands - black slaves

Who created egypt - black pharaoh

Who has the best of resources - black people.

Who is the president of super power - black kenyan

Who are these whites scared of - black person.

The African as an endangered species - by 2050 there will be 2 billion of us Africans. So while we might be dying a lot,we are reproducing a lot. Hence the topic should be changed to s/thing else.
The economic question is the harder one to answer. Will we still be begging for food aid in 2050? Because at that rate, the whole world might have to focus all its energies on just feeding us if things continue as they are. Therefore avoid being the recipient of food aid by becoming a producer yourself.
Actually studies show that only the top 10% of a population are required to take it to great heights - the Henry Fords, the Bill Gates etc. The rest of the 90% are sheep - they just go with the flow.
