Read the article too and it positively depressed me.Perhaps if the African is endangered everywhere we will wake up and assert our right to live with dignity in Africa by kicking our leaders into gear or better still a revolution.To gain the dignity tho,we will have to do a lot to overcome having problems accessing and maintaining access to life's basic needs - feed,clothe and shelter ourselves.

Image is everything.Our image has been,and still is,hammered daily - worldwide! By an incessant barrage by the written press,TV,Movies,books- you name it.The underlying message being; only bad things happen in Africa,you are inferior,you are incapable et al.

The bad thing is - they are winning.More and more Africans start viewing themselves this way.If you can doubt,what about the peasant villager?The battle starts in the mind.Never think for a moment that you are inferior.Don't believe the hype.The barrage.Believe you can.

Reagan is quoted as saying a top priority for the US was keeping the third world down.Movies like 'the international' (where banks finance obscure militias to stage a coup by providing military and political intelligence to gain control of the massive unpayable debt and by extension control the next prezzo n country),'The Lord of War' about the flow of arms to start or maintain wars in Africa,aided or abbeted by western nations,' Zeitgeist' - how good leaders are forcibly indebted,corrupted or killed if they refuse.

These give an insight to what we are up against.A panacea that worked repeatedly in Zeitgeist was people rising as one against some injustice.

A short answer is YES. The rate at which diseases are killing us,wars,accidents,starvation,drought is phenomenal.Only our high birth rate has saved us so far.New infection rates for cancer and heart diseases is shocking since only a few decades ago we had one of the lowest rates.What changed?

R&D,research and development is crucial but we don't do nearly enough.We stifle it and underfund it.In the 1980's a young nyeri boy made some sort of radio station and started broadcasting; he got arrested! Was he a budding Tesla?Marconi?

I think we should all move into towns.It's a lot easier to provide schools,hospitals,jobs,roads,food,water etc to people living in towns (when well planned) as compared to people scattered all over.Towners are more enlightened politically.There's more land for large scale farming.Western countries have 80% of their population living in towns.We have 80% living in the countryside.

Why should the black man be viewed not as a human who has everything that it takes to be human and instead be viewed as an animal?

I have everything to blame fellow Africans ..........the other day I went to a bank with my boss.......... a non-african.......the bank manager was an african.........we started a conversation and the first line to come from the manager was...' the problem with Africans including me.........' ......He and I had not done anything to warrant such a statement. ......It's like Africans do not have confidence with themselves and fellow African......Self esteem should always start with self...

How do you treat your fellow Africans ...your maid? ... your menial workers and your subordinate ?....what and how do you pay them? ... and working conditions? Before you blame other races be careful that you do not practice what you abhor when its done by others.....

I interact alot with our brothers but i must say alot of their approach to life stinks as much as some excellent tendancies. We are to blame relatively for low esteem perpetuated by them to ascertain dominance over our abundance from natural resources to manhood-Samenya. As long as we dont define our world we are doomed brothers. Lets explore and unearth the gem and give it our meaning based on our needs.

if there was a competition for savegery,debauchery and despicable crimes,africa could win gold medal hands down. in the nearby congo,cannibal rebels kill women and kids and feed on their flesh. in TZ,albinos are being hunted down like rats and skinned alive. in 'civilized' south africa,it's widely believed if you rape a virgin,you will be cured of aids. actually the man elected president admitted in a court of law that he showered after unprotected intercourse with an aids victim because he believed this would help. in kenya,screaming kids and women were locked in kiambaa church- eldoret and roasted alive. those who tried to flee were tossed back into the flaming inferno by cheering goons. to date,no one has been convicted. yes i know there's widespread evil on earth,but it's so rampant in africa and almost acceptable in some places. when evil erupts in serious democracies,they try to confront and punish the evil-doers,but here in africa,we bury everything under the carpet in denail and wish things away while claiming our tribes are being targeted. it's called impunity! that's why you hear leaders calling for reconcialliation without any justice for victims. my point is simple. if we africans want to be respected elsewhere,we must first respect ourselves. let's put our house in order. we are not trying to reinvent the wheel. just pick the good and cast waway the bad! evil must be punished,even when the perpetrators are high and mighty cowering behind tribe!
