@Horton - Looking on wikipedia... Dang, the 'newest' 737-300s are 10yr old!!! That is not a good sign even tho aircraft have 20 yr lives...

KQ's presentation says 733s not 734s...

Some good news for KQ? Well maybe... http://www.africareview..../-/ui6r18z/-/index.html

JKIA expansion... finally! Well not till 2011...

Anybody with an idea where this counter will be at dec 2011?, after the 2011 JKIA expansion and the opening of trade in the EAC block, there is some future here, hoping the referendum goes on smoothly or might give a more buying window.

There is an RFP out there for designs for a 2nd Runway. It will take some time but we need a new runway asap! Fewer delayed flights, better/easier aircraft movements & fewer airport closures!

That flight will be full. Always. Do you know how many Chinese there are there?

China-Nairobi-Luanda will be very popular. Pity they could not get more routes!

There will always be competition but KQ has to remain dominant in Africa otherwise fighting for Europe (against numerous European Airlines) or Asia traffic against the Mid-East carriers is a losers game!

In Africa, I think SAA will have its own hassles since it is subsidized. Too much politics/cronyism in SAA is great for KQ. ET is also 100% govt owned & I hope it bites them in the bum too...

I think even though ET is government owned, it has remained stable for many years. Look at the number of dreamliners they have ordered? Over 10 ten compaired to our KQ's two or something closer. Most Ethiopian institutions are government owned and some are having quite ambitious programs. EEPCO, the power utility company is constructing mega power projects with a view getting into the regional market. They are eyeing the East African region, Southern Sudan Djibouti
