Brokers will make a killing. Hopefully it results in transaction fees being reduced.

I am hoping that too;since when I compute my gains, brokers usually make an upward of 4.2% before I can cash in my gains, not to mention the withdrawal/wiring fee..is there anything that can be done to reduce this commission?

one option is having a single entity as your broker and bank.It can also reduce the duration of settlement. And big transactions attract lower commission

Day trading in Kenyan small market is a losers game, this will hurt many people, insider trading will be rife and unlike, in developed markets, the perpetrators will be featured in our dailies as astute investors.

How do you deposit money to your foreign online trading accounts

I have kept a bank account I had from my days there. The alternative is (a) get a rela who is there to deposit for you (b) get an international credit card

Stock investors will wait longer to enjoy same-day trading of shares after Kenya’s clearing house said it was yet to complete a platform upgrade to facilitate faster settlement.

Intraday trading at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) was due to begin this month, but has now been postponed to August due to delays in installing a new $120,000 (Sh12 million) depository software system.

Is this Day-Trading system working? Has anyone bought and sold the same stock same day successfully yet? Or are we experiencing the hitches as usual?

Quote:
Securities lending and borrowing (SLB) is the temporary transfer of securities (shares) from one party, the lender to another, the borrower at an agreed lending/borrowing fee, with a formal agreement to return the securities either on-demand or at a future pre-agreed date.

CDSC shall be implementing SLB pilot phase transactions under the Screen-Based Model. Screen-based-model is where the lender and borrower do not know each other as the lending and borrowing requests are captured on a platform in an automated system (CDS) by the SLB agents on behalf of their clients or on their own behalf.

View the list of Approved SLB Agents. More SLB Agents shall be added as they conclude the approval process.
