The guys at Zain and Orange will get ulcers when they look at these numbers,as they continue making losses.

Okay quoting Larry Madowo from twitter, I had seen Bitange Ndemo admiring the teleprompter before the occassion begun. I figure he must now be giving his speech...

PS Ndemo says international competition lawyers to review controversial regulations in 2-3wks, while asking Safaricom to lower tariffs to increase ARPU

By the way blended arpu fell by 3.4% to ksh 459; churn rate grew by 3.2% to 27.2
Safaricom has done 500 digital villages

6 bob gives P/E of 15.78,not too bad.The price will hold at current levels or around 6,a positive for the NSE,i had a feeling if it went down it would drag the rest of the NSE with it.

So with 15.79million customers, doesn't this mean presumably 90% of adult population may have a Safaricom line?

And profit before tax did indeed hit 20.9 billion making it bigger than EABL, EQUITY combined. At 2.9 billion from data, they dwarfed ACCESS group turnover.

Downloading from Safaricom site is impossible until later in the day perhaps so http://www.nse.co.ke/new...nnouncements/Safcom.pdf should sort you out.
